12,975 set a new Guinness World Record for the world’s largest Zumba class. This pretty amazing feat took place in Mandaluyong, Philippines (a suburb of Manila).

With all of the “Zumba-ers” doning bright yellow shirts, it is easy to see the massive size of this near 13k person dance party setting a new world record.  The Philippine streets are filled with the beats of popular Zumba tunes as the large mass follow the steps of instructors raised above the crowds on stages spread out throughout the gathering.

According to the BBC, the previous record was held by another Philippine city called Cebu.  Apparently the Filipinos are super into Zumba!  A 3rd location for Zumba con Marcela classes?!?  Hahaha.

Zumba is a dance-fitness program founded by Colombian choreographer Alberto “Beto” Pérez in the 1990s. It boasts dance and aerobic elements, and incorporates hip-hop, samba, salsa, soca, mambo and merengue.
